Racism in America

photo from Kron4 News

Modern day slavery discovered in Georgia this past week. And in a similar manner to the Kyle Rittenhouse case, I’m incredibly disappointed but not surprised.

My favorite saying on the internet is that people “make everything about race,” specifically black people. It is obviously a deflective statement for white people to actively dismiss racism. And that statement is almost always followed by “slavery ended hundreds of years ago.” To that I would say, first of all, it hasn’t (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.kron4.com/news/national/modern-day-slavery-ring-discovered-in-georgia/amp/), and was never abolished in the first place (https://youtu.be/krfcq5pF8u8), and second of all, it is incredibly ignorant to assume that all racism has magically vanished in accordance with stricter laws. Especially with the recent verdict on the Kyle Rittenhouse case, it is apparent that the United States government was not only built upon racism, by continues to uphold white supremacy.
